Nabil Dkhil is a multi-instrumentalist born in Gabes, Tunisia. He began his musical journey at the age of 19 with percussion and vocals. Co-founding the band “Stambalio” with six members, they achieved recognition by winning the 2nd prize of the jury at the International Festival of Gabes in 2002, followed by participation in the International Festival of Matmata the same year. Nabil’s passion for music led him to self-teach Guembri (The Sintir) and his skills were acknowledged by the renowned Guembri player “EL Ejmi”. Nabil continued to evolve artistically, participating in various international festivals and producing original works like “Stambalio” and “Pardon our Lord”, while preserving the ancient melodies and chants of Afro-Arabic culture. Since 2008, residing in Lyon, France, Nabil has collaborated with jazz and Afro musicians, including “Balani Sound System”, and regularly returns to Tunisia to collaborate with artists like Boubakar Ben Zid and Nabil Ghannoufi.
