The Wool Felting Workshop formed part of the training cycle of the From & To People program. It invited participants to explore wool as a locally available material with a long history of use in Tunisian crafts and everyday life.
Through practical learning and experimentation, participants discovered the properties of wool and developed an understanding of the felting process. The workshop introduced techniques for transforming loose wool fibers into a more compact material, allowing participants to observe how the fibers respond to handling and how different processes can influence the final result.
The workshop also created space to reconsider the creative potential of wool, a material whose place in contemporary artisanal production deserves renewed attention. By working directly with the fibers, participants explored the relationship between material behavior, manual techniques, and the possibilities of creating new forms.
Within the wider vision of From & To People, the workshop contributed to a process of rediscovering local materials and examining how traditional knowledge can meet contemporary creative approaches. It encouraged participants to develop a closer understanding of wool and its potential within future stages of experimentation, design, and production.
