In recognition of the necessity of valuing African cultural heritage and enhancing the values of solidarity and peace, “Danseurs Citoyens Sud” organization hosted a group of specialized artists in performing and visual arts within the context of an artistic boot camp titled “4000 km untitled.”
The camp took place from February 5th to February 12th, 2024, at “No Name” artistic studio lab in Gabes, Tunisia. It aimed to depict the political, economic, social, environmental, and historical impacts that affect the lives of the inhabitants of the African continent as they head towards the northern shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Additionally, the initiative highlighted the natural resources and intangible African heritage shared between the North and South of the African continent.
As part of the bootcamp , interviews had been conducted with three artists (Nabil Dkhil, Malek Zouaidi, Haifa Ouerfelli) who shared valuable insights about their artistic backgrounds as well as the bootcamp experience.
