T
he program aims to foster civic engagement to build vibrant, inclusive, and democratic societies, where individuals outside of centers and capitals are empowered to actively participate in shaping their future, strengthen social cohesion amongst themselves, and address the pressing issues they face through artistic and creative advocacy and changing the reality around them. The program focuses on providing individuals with the tools and knowledge to positively impact their communities through transformative visualization, which is the ability to imagine the world not as it is, but as “it could be.” This imagination and visualization are not limited to the future but also address the present and the past. Through this visualization, art can question prevailing facts and bestow a space for multiple perspectives, voices, and narratives. Thus, the process of imagination and visualization is a collective social practice that gives individuals the ability to rethink the past, engage with the present, and chart a future in which everyone has room for expression, participation, and hope.
