Fellowship Program
As part of its commitment to supporting culture and the arts, Danseurs Citoyens Sud launched the Research Fellowship Program as a pioneering initiative aimed at generating knowledge in the fields of arts and cultural studies, with a particular focus on southern Tunisia. The program is built around two core pillars: the first centers on a training component in cultural research, aiming to equip and mentor emerging cultural researchers in cities outside major centers—specifically in Tunisia’s south. The second focuses on fostering the production of research and studies that contribute to a deeper understanding and deconstruction of local cultural contexts and specificities.
From May 24 to 29, 2025, No Name Cultural Center hosted the program’s first training session, bringing together six researchers from diverse backgrounds around a central, open-ended question:
How can cultural research reshape our awareness of reality?
The training was led by:
Shayma Al-Abidi – Cultural practitioner and independent journalist
Mohamed Ali Berhouma – Researcher in art history and visual arts, specialized in teaching and academic research
Haikel Hazgui – Writer and researcher specializing in popular culture
