“At Hand ” is a visual art exhibition hosted by Danseurs Citoyens Sud in Gabes as part of its department “No Name ECO-LAB” from July 6th to July 20th, 2024. This initiative includes a collection of artworks presented by female students/graduates from the Higher Institute of Arts and Crafts in Gabes, under the supervision of the artist Mohamed Amine Hammouda. The exhibition primarily focuses on the principle of utilizing raw materials derived from oasis waste, wild plants, remnants of burlap, paper, bricks, cement, and wool to create artworks filled with symbols that transform mere physical elements into meanings, ideas, and human issues. “At Hand” is thus a collaborative effort aimed at constructing a narrative based on hope that reflects the true reality and concerns of the land’s inhabitants in all their simplicity and depth.
