Our story
Danseurs Citoyens Sud (DCS) was launched as a progressive youth movement focused on dance and performing arts and was founded as an independent organization in May 2015.
WHAT WE ARE DOING NOW
Through the years, the association’s vision has expanded, and its programs grew to include a wider range of artistic performing and visual productions as well as an increased focus on playing a transformative social and political role in the fields of arts and culture and the protection of artistic freedom and cultural rights. .
We are currently drafting DCS’ long-term strategy as well as defining the organization’s Operating Model to ensure an effective and robust implementation of our future aspirations and continue to systematically uphold our philosophy and values.
WHAT WE ASPIRE TO ACHIEVE
In the future, we seek to further deepen our engagement with local actors in the MENA region and the global South and to expand our collaborative strategies to consolidate decentralization (cultural and otherwise)

We look forward to a cohesive and diverse Tunisian society that contributes to the creation of leading cultural spaces in cultural and creative industries while ensuring the rights of citizens, particularly those in marginalized and difficult regions through supporting true cultural decentralization. Art is hereby employed as a means of resistance in the face of geopolitical transformations in the Arab region.
