The Molding and Modeling Workshop formed part of the training cycle of the From & To People program. Through this workshop, participants explored gypsum as a material with potential for artisanal practices and contemporary creative production.
The workshop introduced participants to the fundamental principles of molding and modeling, offering a hands-on learning experience focused on understanding the material and discovering its possibilities. Through practical exercises, participants became familiar with different ways of shaping gypsum and explored how its physical properties could inform creative experimentation.
Beyond learning technical processes, the workshop encouraged participants to approach gypsum as more than a conventional craft material. By experimenting with forms, textures, and shaping techniques, they began to explore new ways of working with the material and considering its potential applications in contemporary creation.
The workshop reflects the broader approach of From & To People, which brings local resources, artisanal knowledge, and creative experimentation into dialogue. By opening up new perspectives on gypsum, this stage contributed to the program’s ongoing exploration of how materials can be reinterpreted and developed through artistic and craft-based practices.
