Chehine Dhahak
Based in Tunisia, Chehine Dhahak is an independent visual artist and professional photographer with 15 years of experience. His artistic practice is a continuous dialogue between cinema, art history, and sociology, fueling a deeply instinctive approach to image-making. Whether through street photography or conceptual series, he captures the “instinct of the moment,” focusing on the tactile nature of analog processes and the timeless depth of black-and-white grain.
His career is marked by international and local recognition, including a collective exhibition at the European Parliament (2012) and participation in prominent events such as Le Printemps des Arts de la Marsa (2012). More recently, he has showcased his work at the Maison de l’Image (“Tbarbich”, 2019) and the TGM Gallery, where he was featured as an “Emerging Artist” in 2024.
Dhahak’s latest contributions to the visual arts include the publication of his photobook “Dhia3 Nesbi” (2025) and his solo exhibition “Vagabondage” at the Nawat Festival (2023). Beyond his personal creation, he shares his expertise through workshops, mentoring others in creative lighting and the art of the mechanical gaze.
