As part of its commitment to supporting culture and the arts, Danseurs Citoyens Sud launched the Research Fellowship Program as a pioneering initiative aimed at generating knowledge in the fields of arts and cultural studies, with a particular focus on southern Tunisia.
The program is built on two core pillars. The first focuses on a training component in cultural research, designed to equip and mentor emerging cultural researchers in cities outside major urban centers, particularly in the south of Tunisia. The second pillar is dedicated to encouraging the production of research and studies that contribute to a deeper understanding of local cultural contexts and the deconstruction of their specificities.
From May 24 to 29, 2025, the No Name Cultural Center hosted the program’s first training session. This initial phase brought together six researchers from diverse backgrounds to engage in a collective learning and research experience centered around a key open-ended question:
How can cultural research reshape our awareness of reality?
Through workshops, discussions, and practical research exercises, participants explored methodological tools and critical approaches to cultural inquiry, connecting theory with lived cultural realities in southern Tunisia.
